FIN 6120 - Financial Management This course will focus on a contemporary study of financial management for financial managers to function effectively across the business supported by the use of quantitative methods. Topics to be examined include creation of shareholder value, using modelling to construct pro-forma financial statements, understanding the role of and incorporating quantitative tools to manage working capital, evaluating risk and return, assessing capital budgeting and asset pricing models, employing sources of long-term capital to develop optimal capital structures, conducting risk analysis within a derivatives framework and building models in Excel.
Note: Open only to graduate students in MScFin. (MBA students enroll in MBA 6004).
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: FIN 6020 or equivalent
Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions: Restrictions Enrollment in MScFin courses requires admission to the MScFin program.
