FIN 6190 - Global Financial Markets and Institutions Study of contemporary issues in money, capital and foreign exchange markets, multinational financial management, financial instruments and intermediaries in a global context. Topics include interest rate and security price determination, term structure theory, exchange mechanisms and rates, hedging techniques with derivatives, areas of multinational financial management and international investments with emphasis on the management of currency risk, and commercial and investment banking practices. The areas examined include international treasury cash management, multinational capital budgeting and hedging of transactions, foreign exchange exposures, currency risk management and monetary policy methodology and influences. Financial Technology and quantitative methods in finance as applied to global financial markets are used. Other topics such as behavioral finance and case studies in finance will be discussed/used to enhance the understanding of topics mentioned earlier.

Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions: Restrictions Enrollment in MScFIN graduate program. Permission for enrollment of MBA or MSA program students by approval of the MScFIN Program Director.
