EDMM 6560 - Physical Metallurgy

Fundamentals of strengthening mechanisms in metals and alloy design. Includes discussion of dislocation theory for alloy design. Solidification, diffusion, and phase transformation will also be covered in respect to their impact on manufacturing. The metallurgy of significant industrial alloy systems will be used for practical examples.
