FCS 6120 - Maternal and Child Nutrition This course concerns nutrition issues affecting pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children. It will address physiologic and metabolic changes associated with pregnancy; importance of essential nutrients for normal fetal growth as well as maternal health; general and nutritional recommendations for the management of maternal obesity. This course will also provide an overview regarding adequate nutrition during infancy and childhood to adolescence.
Note: Open to graduate students only.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: FCS 2600 or equivalent with a grade of “C” or better.
Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions: Restricted to master’s in Family and Consumer Sciences.
