CHEG 5400 - Polymer Engineering and Technology In this course, students will apply fundamental concepts of polymer science and engineering to the polymer technologies in commercial production. This course will apply knowledge in synthetic and biopolymer, structure, functionality, and chemistry to industrial processes that involve polymers. The student will be able to describe and apply synthetic polymer preparation techniques, manufacturing, and applications. In addition, the area of polymer rheology, mechanical behavior, thermodynamics, processing conditions, and equipment designs will be implemented with respect to current and future product applications.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisites: CHEM 3750 and CHEM 3770 or CHEG 2960. A grade of “C” or better is required for all prerequisites.
