SOC 5430 - Criminal Justice System and Process This course covers the three parts of the criminal justice system—law enforcement, courts, and punishment—the interrelationships between them, and external factors that impact the system as a whole and its individual parts. In particular, theoretical accounts of criminal justice practices and the social, economic, and political influences that shape criminal justice organizations and their practices will be examined.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisites: SOC 2600 and SOC 3630 and SOC 3650, or graduate standing. A grade of “C” or better is required for all prerequisites.
