WMUx Overview

As a resource for and a partner to the University and our community, WMUx provides a foundation for growth as we build the future of learning together. WMUx cultivates thriving relationships and connections within both our internal and external communities by forming inclusive teams that break down barriers and eliminate silos to provide our partners with the resources and support they need. WMUx exists to collaboratively imagine, design, and realize ideas that transform and enhance the learning experience.

WMUx serves as the home for several critical functions and services, including instructional development and support, regional location operations, non-credit and professional development offerings and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Instructional Development & Support

WMUx Instructional Development & Support partners with instructors, graduate students and staff to support all aspects of teaching and learning. WMU instructors bring the subject matter expertise and WMUx teams provide evidence-based teaching and learning strategies to transform and enhance the student learning experience as well as market research analytics to drive informed decision-making.

Faculty innovation is the lifeblood of our university, but many faculty with great ideas don’t always know where to start. Collaborating with WMUx is the first step. We help faculty discover how to put their ideas into practice and uncover new opportunities along the way. From seamlessly integrating technology into their courses to determining what in-class activities would best support their course learning objectives, our Instructional Development & Support teams help faculty turn challenges into opportunities both in and out of the classroom. From the first step to the last, WMUx provides the resources and support to help transform ideas, plans, and goals into action.
