  • Aviation Management and Operations - Bachelor of Science
  • Aviation Technical Operations - Bachelor of Science

Admission to Aviation Curricula
Students who meet the WMU admission criteria will be placed in their major by the College of Aviation if space is available.

Enrollment in flight theory and flight lab course is subject to a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 overall GPA and a 3.0 College of Aviation GPA earned at Western Michigan University. Once the student meets these requirements, the student will be eligible for flight training courses. Entering freshmen without a WMU grade point average will be considered if they have a earned a high school GPA of 3.0. Transfer students without a WMU GPA will be considered if they have earned a GPA of 3.0 or better from their prior institution. To begin pilot training, an application approved by the Chief Flight Instructor is required. Also, FAA 2nd class medical certificate is required (1st class is recommended). Due to aircraft limitations, an individual’s flight course participation may be limited due to extremes in that individual’s size and/or weight. It is recommended that individuals heavier than 275 lbs., shorter than 5’ 2”, or taller than 6’ 6” reach out to the college to discuss limitations.
