Requirements
A major in economics consists of a minimum of 30 hours of credit in the department. The following are required courses for majors: Calculus
Majors should choose the remainder of their economics courses in consultation with the undergraduate advisor. A major in economics is also required to take one semester of calculus as a cognate course. Mathematics
Those who intend to do graduate work in economics are advised to take additional mathematics courses, such as: Baccalaureate Writing Requirement
Students who have chosen the economics major through the College of Arts and Sciences will satisfy the Baccalaureate Writing Requirement by successfully completing one of the following: Courses By Topic - Economics
Principles and General Theory
Labor and Resource Economics
Industrial Organization and Public Control
