The Industrial Technology Education group major is designed to prepare teachers of industrial technology education (formerly known as industrial technology or industrial arts) for middle, junior, and senior high schools. The student must complete the group major in Industrial Technology Education. A minor is not required, but students who complete the requirements for a vocational minor in Drafting or Graphics Arts are eligible for vocational certification in the related vocational CIP code.

No minor is required.
However, students may choose to complete the requirements for a vocational minor in Drafting or Graphic Arts to be eligible for a vocational Standard CTE Teaching Certificate in the CIP code related to the minor. Each vocational minor, Drafting or Graphic Arts, requires a minimum of 4000 hours of recent (within 10 years) and relevant (must be in drafting or graphic arts) work experience. Some of the work experience can be completed as part of the undergraduate degree. Drafting and Graphic Arts minor requirements are listed in the “Vocational-Technical Minor” section of the catalog.
