Requirements for Jazz Studies Majors:
Juries:
All Bachelor of Music-Jazz Studies majors are required to fulfill a Jury at the conclusion of every semester
Sophomore Hearing:
All Bachelor of Music-Jazz Studies majors are required to fulfill a Sophomore Hearing at the conclusion of their 4th semester, at which point they are admitted to MUS 3000
Junior/Senior Recital:
All Bachelor of Music-Jazz Studies majors are required to present a Junior and Senior recital.
Performance Electives (8 hours)
Additional ensemble credits (4 hours)
General Musicianship (3 hours)
Music Convocation (7 semesters)
Keyboard Requirement (1 hour)
Theory, History and Repertoire (23-24 hours)
Jazz History and Literature (3 hours)
History or Theory Elective (2-3 hours)
Composition, Arranging, Improvisation (13 hours)
Technology Cognate (12-13 hours)
