The minor in Healthcare Services and Sciences offers an opportunity for students to learn about the health care environment and how to make evidence-based decisions related to health and health care. It also introduces students to health-related aspects of lifespan development and the impact of diversity and disparities on health and health care. The mission of the Healthcare Services and Sciences program is to help students understand the health care world and how to work successfully in it.
The Healthcare Services and Sciences Minor is meant to supplement training in other fields such as biological sciences, public health, management, public administration, exercise science, communications, marketing, psychology, sociology, social work and others. The required courses are offered on-campus and online.
The minor consists of six core courses from the B.S. in Healthcare Services and Sciences. One of these , HSV 2650, can be passed with a proficiency exam.
