Graduate Certificate Program in Cybersecurity: Computer Science (CYAC)

The Cybersecurity: Computer Science Graduate Certificate is an interdisciplinary in-person or online practitioner-based offering concentrating in the growing field of cybersecurity. This certificate is comprised of five courses offered by the Business Information Systems and Computer Science departments. Two core courses are required and then students must select the Secure Software and Engineering track to complete the certificate.

Students working toward the graduate certificate must be admitted into the program. Students must have a bachelor’s degree in either a technical discipline or an appropriate discipline related to their chosen track. Students with other bachelor’s degrees and professional experience will also be considered.

The Cybersecurity: Computer Science Graduate Certificate is offered in different instructional delivery modes: asynchronous online, in-person, and fully synchronous online. Students much choose an instructional delivery mode of either online or traditional when applying to the program.

For the online modes students do not need to attend classes at the main or any regional campuses to earn the degree.

For the traditional in-person mode students will need to attend the main campus in Kalamazoo. International students should apply for this option.

Graduate credit is earned for all passing classes.

Students must choose a track and successfully complete all courses from either the Information Security Management Track or the Secure Software and Engineering and Engineering Track to earn the certificate.
