The Latinx and Latin American Studies minor provides students with interdisciplinary perspectives for understanding the social, economic and political realities that shape and connect Latinx and Latin American communities as both are deeply linked in their history, their people, their language and cultures. It also offers diverse approaches to studying the cultures, literatures and arts of the Americas. Ample opportunities are given to focus on Latinx cultures in our region, statewide, across the country, and in Latin America. Students minoring in Latinx and Latin American Studies will deepen their knowledge of the subject matter through courses in multiple disciplines with faculty members who have devoted their research work to these fields.
