The Public Health minor is an 18-credit hour curriculum focused on primary prevention of negative public health issues within community settings. Coursework focuses on public and global health needs and issues, biostatistics and epidemiology, modifying health behaviors, and planning public health programs. The Public Health minor integrates classroom study with hands-on practical experiences in order to provide the student with a comprehensive level of academic preparation. The minor prepares students with population health skills necessary to complement careers in government-based agencies, nonprofit organizations, managed care organizations, and medical and hospital education settings.
