Cybersecurity Minor (CYAN)

Cybersecurity minors must pass MATH 1180 or its equivalent with a grade of “C” or better.

Cybersecurity minors must take a minimum of six (6) CYCS or CYIS courses to complete the minor.

If Computer Science, Business Analytics, Computer Information Systems, or Data Science students have already taken an equivalent course or one of the courses listed below as part of their major requirements, they must substitute a different Cybersecurity course to meet the six (6) course minimum requirement.

A minimum of six (6) CYCS/CYIS courses is required.

Fundamental Requirements (4 courses required)

CYCS 1110 - Computer Programming 1 Credits: 4 hours (unless the student has completed CS 1110 or CIS 2600) *
CYCS 1120 - Computer Programming 2 Credits: 4 hours (unless the student has completed CS 1120 or CIS 2610) *
CYCS 1310 - Foundations of Cybersecurity Credits: 4 hours (unless the student has completed CS 1310) *
CYIS 2310 - Ethics and Impacts Credits: 3 hours
* (If this course is part of a student’s major, they must substitute a course from the elective list.)

Elective Classes (choose 2-5 courses depending on major)

All CYCS/CYIS classes except for CYCS/CYIS 4910 and CYCS/CYIS 4920.
