Graduate Certificate Program in Organizational Change Leadership (OCLC)

The Certificate in Organizational Change Leadership (OCL) is housed in the Department of Educational Leadership, Research and Technology (ELRT). It is designed to address one of the most critical and sought-after competencies needed in today’s organizations- the ability to lead effective change in an age of globalization. Designed for professionals working in a variety of  organizations and graduate students with the desire to develop their change leadership skills, this competency-grounded certificate combines research, theory, and practice to build the capacity to effectively lead and develop individuals, groups, and organizations in an age of globalization. Upon completion of the certificate, students will have gained a deep understanding of the following knowledge areas: organizational change theory and its models and frameworks; organizational and national cultures; group dynamics; large-scale change; and organization design. In addition, students will be skilled at; using theory to understand the organizational changes they encounter and lead; diagnosing organizational problems and developing recommendations for improvement using global/cross-cultural perspectives; analyzing various organizational and national cultures and organization systems, symbols, and people in ways that influence planning, policies, and resource allocations in organizations; conducting group diagnoses to assess group performance and to effectively lead and develop diverse teams; designing and leading large, Whole Scale change at the organizational and societal levels; and designing forward-thinking organization creating all components, including vision, mission, strategy, structure, and processes.
