As one of the most flexible majors in the department, marketing is a very popular major for students who want to develop career versatility that comes from an understanding of marketing principles to applying those principles in solving real business problems. Because of the size and scope of the department of marketing, students can choose from a broad list of courses for their electives giving marketing majors an easy way to focus electives in a specific area of interest. The Marketing major prepares students for careers in a wide range of industries, as sound marketing is critical to the success of every type of organization, including business-to-consumer companies, business-to-business companies, as well as non-profit organizations. Marketing majors pursue a variety of career paths including those related to branding, strategy, consumer/marketing research, consumer experience, promotion, channel and sales management to name but a few.
A minimum of 24 hours is required for this major.

Elective Courses
The Marketing Department offers a wide array of elective courses that span most content areas of the marketing discipline. Students may elect any (2) two courses from the list of available courses below. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with a major advisor to discuss their two elective course options, sequencing, and career plans. |
