Program Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Qualitative Research prepares students with skills in qualitative inquiry design and analysis to generate, collect, prepare, and analyze the expanding array of qualitative data, and to produce written reports aligned with the expectations of their specific disciplinary audience. This certificate program consists of five, three-credit hour courses (15 total credit hours). Graduate students in this applied program will develop knowledge and skills related to designing, conducting, and analyzing qualitative research.

Electives
In conjunction with their advisor, students will choose six credits from the following: - EMR 6560 - Mixed Methods Research Credits: 3 hours (May require prerequisites outside of certificate program or permission of the instructor to register.)
- EMR 6770 - Ethnographic Research Methods Credits: 3 hours
- EMR 6970 - Special Topics in EMR Credits: 1 to 6 hours (May require prerequisites outside of certificate program or permission of the instructor to register.) Credits / Units: 3 hours
- Other elective course approved by advisor (May require prerequisites outside of certificate program or permission of the instructor to register.) Credits / Units: 3 hours
