The department offers a minor in computer science that is suitable to support scientists and engineers. The minor allows a student to complete a secondary concentration in computer science.

Computer Science Courses (21 hours)
CS 2000 represents a computer science course teaching a programming language as a second language. Only languages appropriate to scientific use will be approved as a replacement for FORTRAN.
- Two Computer Science Electives Credits: 5 hours
See the Computer Science Advisor. Such electives may be described in the Undergraduate Catalog or in departmental material published traditionally or on its web site. Not all computer science courses may be used to satisfy this requirement. Only one of these electives may be a programming language course. Required Mathematics Courses (12 hours)
