STAT 2630 - Introduction to Mathematical Statistics Using R Univariate distribution theory is presented for discrete and continuous random variables. Models that are widely used in applications are discussed. The method of Monte Carlo is discussed for random generation of variates. Inference (point estimation, confidence intervals, and testing) based on likelihood theory and bootstrap is studied. Students will use software R throughout the course, including the writing of R functions.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: MATH 1220 and STAT 2600.
