ES 6290 - Culture and Schooling The purpose of this course is for students to examine culture as a system for organizing thought and perception and to explore its various influences on the content and methods of schooling in the United States. Particular attention is given to cultural dissonance among students, teacher, and text, and to culturally grounded ways of knowing that emerge from schooling experiences.
