PADM 6120 - Principles of Public Budgeting This course utilizes a combination of “hands-on” exercises and theory to examine the preparation of government budgets. Topics to be addressed include criteria for evaluating sources of government revenue, the politics of budgeting, alternative budget formats such as line item and performance, cost center accounting, and the methodologies for developing revenue projections, capital improvement programs and operating budgets. Ability to use spreadsheets such as Excel or Lotus is required.
