EDLD 6710 - History and Foundation of Higher Education Leadership This course provides an introduction to the roles and functions of higher education from historical and contemporary perspectives, and is designed for advanced graduate students who aspire to serve in administrative and instructional capacities on college and university campuses. The knowledge from this course provides the foundation for leadership in educational programs and institutions. Students will be required to demonstrate an understanding not only of historical events but also of the transformational leadership and other leadership theories, effective communication and problem solving, motivation and decision-making, organizational change to be an effective leader in higher education in the twenty-first century.
Credits: 3 hours
