ANTH 5250 - Spirits and Medicine This course explores how healing is linked to belief and in turn how beliefs about well-being, illness, and treatment are culturally prefigured. Students will examine healing practices in the United States and cross-culturally as they related to belief and consciousness, including western medicine and alternatives, spirit possession and trance, and methods of divination.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: Junior status and 12 hours of course work in anthropology, including ANTH 2400.
Credits: 3 hours
