ART 2230 - Introduction to Asian Art History This course will investigate art from the prehistoric to the contemporary within South, Southeast, and East Asia. Art will be discussed in relation to religious and political patronage as well as regional and global contacts. Asian aesthetic approaches will be studied within these cultural contexts that often differ from Western ideas. This course satisfies WMU Essential Studies Level 2: Exploration and Discovery – World Language and Culture Category.
