DANC 1800 - The Creative Choreographer A practical experience focusing on the choreographer’s creative process for solo dances. Emphasis will be placed on identifying, selecting and utilizing a variety of source material through use of critical evaluation skills for dance, use of choreographic devices, use of improvisation for generating movement, creating meaning through the use of time, space, energy/force, and weight, and creation of a written personal artistic statement.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: DANC 1860 with a grade of “C” or better.
Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions: This course is restricted to the following programs: BA in Dance, BFA in Dance and Dance minors.
