ES 3950 - School and Society This course focuses on major issues affecting the advancement of American education in a culturally diverse, democratic society. Course content includes inquiry as to how social, historical, political, philosophical, economic, and legal factors influence educational policy and practice. Connections between school and issues of race, class, gender, and the environment are explored. An interdisciplinary approach is used. This course satisfies WMU Essential Studies Level 3: Connections – Local and National Perspectives Category.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: Minimum of 70 earned semester credit hours.
Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions: Restricted to majors in education.
