HPHE 1500 - Foundations of Physical and Health Education An introduction to contemporary physical and health education teacher education and physical activity, this course will provide a philosophical background in the development of physical and health education and physical activity programs. Course content will include the history and philosophy of physical and health education, examination of the value of physical activity in the 21st century, professional competencies, ethics, organizations and issues. The initial development of a professional philosophy begins in this course.
Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions: Restricted to pre/majors in Physical Education: Teacher/Coach, Physical Education: Secondary Education, and Physical and Health Education Teacher Education: K-12.
