MPH 6110 - Descriptive Epidemiology and Biostatistics This course introduces students to the history, principles and current uses of epidemiology and biostatistics. Content focuses on methods to describe and compare quantitatively the patterns of health, morbidity and mortality in populations. It also examines sources and limitations of health data, concepts of sampling, power, hypothesis testing, surveillance, and ethical consideration of surveillance programs.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: Enrollment in Master of Public Health (MPH) courses requires admission to the MPH program or the approval of the Coordinator for the Master of Public Health program.
Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions Restricted to Master of Public Health. Notes: Open to graduate students only.
