NUR 6310 - Community focused Care: An Interdisciplinary Approach


Relationship Centered Care and a holistic understanding of the nature of human beings, how they respond to health and illness, and the key role that health professionals play in promoting health and well-being of individuals, groups and populations is the focus of this core science course. The increasing complexity of illness care for populations with several chronic conditions calls for new ways of addressing client needs. Content includes interdisciplinary perspectives of health and illness, basic principles of epidemiology, community-based assessment and evaluation, issues of equity, and levels of prevention.

Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: Admission to the Master of Science in Nursing program or instructor approval.

Credits 3 hrs.
