NUR 6500 - Health Care Information Systems and Technology This course provides nurse leaders with working knowledge of technical, user and environmental factors that are important to consider in the selection and use of clinical information systems that support nursing care and decision making processes. It builds on the foundations of informatics taken at the baccalaureate level. Students will gain an understanding of technology, data, human processing, and standards related to clinical information systems, and how these elements are used to make evidence-based decisions in health care systems and services.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: Admission to the Master of Science in Nursing program or instructor approval.
Credits 3 hrs.
