- Minimum of 24 hours of course work in history, with a maximum of nine hours at the introductory level (this includes 1000/2000-level courses, two-year institution transfers, and AP credits)
- Students must complete History 2900.
- Students must take a minimum of 3 hours (one course) selected from the 3000-level writing intensive classes (See list of classes below) and 3 hours (one course) from 4000-level baccalaureate writing courses.
- Students must take at least one 3000- or 4000-level course from the premodern category and one 3000- or 4000-level course from the modern category.
