A-S 4960 - Writing-Intensive Mentored Portfolio A student portfolio will be developed in conjunction with a faculty mentor. The faculty mentor will aid the student in the development of the portfolio and will evaluate its contents. The portfolio may be Based upon information about their “life experience,” professional experience, credits from professional job training seminars and/or significant classroom projects. The course will include at least four significant writing experiences to meet the Baccalaureate Writing requirement. Mentored Portfolio credit can be used for all or part of the Professional Studies capstone experience. Students are required to seek advising prior to taking their first capstone experience. The course may be repeated for a total of six credit hours. Application forms are available from the College of Arts and Sciences advising office, the advising office at the WMU Regional Sites and on the advising page of the College web site (http://www.wmich.edu/advising.html). This course is approved as a writing-intensive course which may fulfill the baccalaureate-level writing requirement of the student’s curriculum.
