ANTH 4500 - Primate Behavior and Ecology An advanced survey of the primates. Topics include: primate characteristics; taxonomy, constraints of body size on locomotion and diet; and primate social behavior in an ecological context. The behavioral ecology of individual species will be explored through readings, films, and when possible, direct behavior observation at a zoo. This course is approved as a writing-intensive course which may fulfill the baccalaureate-level writing requirement of the student’s curriculum. Prerequisite: ANTH 2500 or consent of instructor.
