MATH 5900 - In-Service Professional Development in Mathematics This course develops specific professional skills related to the teaching and learning of pre-college mathematics. Final course outcomes have demonstrated applications to the mathematics classroom. This course may be repeated. Each offering of MATH 5900 will be given an appropriate subtitle which will be listed on the student’s official transcript. Students may earn up to three hours of credit for any given subtitle. Credit hours may be applied to continuing teacher certification programs with approval of the Teacher Certification Office, but will not be applicable to a new endorsement in mathematics nor to any graduate program within the Department of Mathematics. Graded on a Credit/No Credit basis. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.
Credits: 1 to 3 hours
Notes: Undergraduates with junior status and 12 hours of work in mathematics and statistics may enroll in 5000-level courses with prior approval of the department chair.
