SPAN 5600 - Studies in Spanish Literatures Topic varies according to genre, author, or period and will be announced. Each of these courses carries separate credit, although all are listed under 5600. Thus, a student may take any or all of the offerings at various times. Representative topics which may be treated in this area include: Modern Spanish Women Writers; Modern Spanish Theater; Modern Spanish-American Theater; Fable and Fantasy in Early Spain; Spanish-American Literature and Film; Humor in Spanish Theater; Sex, Lies, and Manuscripts in the Spanish Middle Ages; The Spanish-American Short Story; Spanish Short Story and Poetry; Literature of the Spanish Civil War
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: SPAN 3160, 3170, and 3250.

Notes: 5000-level courses may be taken only by advanced undergraduate students. Advanced undergraduate students are defined as those who have satisfactorily completed a minimum of four courses, or equivalent, applicable toward a major or minor in any one language. Each course, however, may have more specific and/or additional prerequisites.
