MUS 1700 - Introduction to Musical Styles and Structures


An overview of various approaches to the musical elements (rhythm, dynamics, melody, harmony, tone color, texture, and form), emphasizing major musical terms, concepts, and composers studied through examples from Classical, Jazz, Pop, and World musics.

Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: MUS 1600 with a grade of “C” or better, may be taken concurrently.
