ANTH 3390 - Cultures of Latin America This course offers an introduction to contemporary life in Latin America from an ethnographic perspective. Readings and class discussions will highlight the intersections of colonialism, nationalism and globalization among selected groups in different areas in the region. By locating contemporary societies within broader contexts this class aims to replace cultural stereotypes with anthropological analysis.
Credits: 3 hours
